Flamingo Gardens Orchid Society January 2026 Speaker

Flamingo Gardens Orchid Society will meet on Monday January 12, 2026 at 7:30 pm with featured speaker Cheryl Erins, the current President of the American Orchid Society. Cheryl is a longtime orchid grower, AOS-certified judge, and active leader in the Chicago Judging Center. She is also a Past President of the Mid-America Orchid Congress and previously served as President of the Batavia Orchid Society. Cheryl enjoys sharing her expertise with orchid groups across the country and has traveled to Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Malaysia, Taiwan, and many locations throughout North America to deepen her knowledge of orchids. Cheryl will present “Growing Vandas: Understanding Their Growth Habits,” and will also share information about the American Orchid Society and its mission. The meeting will take place at Flamingo Gardens, Mary N. Porter Learning Center, 3750 S. Flamingo Road, Davie FL. 33330. For orchid enthusiasts who are new to the hobby or new to Flamingo Gardens Orchid Society, the Newbie Group meets prior to the FGOS meeting, at 6:45 pm in the Learning Center, for a 30-minute beginner level discussion about seasonal orchid topics.
