Orchid History

General Discussion

by Carol Holdren

Cattleya Hybrida, a cross between C guttata x C loddigesii, registered in 1859.   Growing in Sta lite, gray rock,  obtained from Odom's Orchids in Ft. Pierce, FL, USA.  John Odom hosts a Cattleya Symposium each fall in Ft. Pierce Florida and has an interest in both Cattleya species and early hybrids.  I also picked up a 1906 hybrid: BC Cordelia (B digbyana x C intermedia).
