Powdered form contains eight to twelve percent of nitrogen, part of which is quickly available to plant roots, part within a few weeks; sprinkle dry form 1/4 teaspoon evenly over surface of 6 inch pot; a quicker method is to put 1 tpg. and stir until suspended in the water, then put one cup in each 6 inch pot; repeat monthly. BLOOD MEAL: A Common Source of Organic Nitrogen Contains 13% nitrogen; used as a dry feed top dressing; nitrogen released through activity of micro-organisms in about ten days to two weeks in warm weather; apply 1 teaspoon to a six inch pot; odorous; lasts up to eight weeks.
