They fix CO-two both day and night; the balance point of photosynthesis/food formation is at 200 lux, i.e., food formation is just equal to transpiration, at light intensities from 200 lux to 5000 lux the rate of photqsynthesis increases to its maximum level; in winter the poorer level of light requires that plants be kept at 50 dF (lO dC).
