Don't use it; use Benlate sparingly so resistance in pests does not build up; it does not normally need a wetter-sticker; Physan is primarily an algae spray. A82-1061

SPRAY EQUIPMENT: Rinsing Materials Use plain water first on the equipment after it has been used; then use household ammonia at one part to five or ten parts water; then lastly plain water. A78-1124 0
SPRAYING INSECTICIDES: Safety Code L. Read cautions and warnings on the container label each time used. 2. Lock up all chemicals; Don't let children use them; Keep them in the original container. 3. Don't use them close to an open flame or lit cigarette. 4. Avoid inhaling the spray or dust. 5. Bathe after spraying; change clothes; wash them. 6. Cover vegetables and food sources; avoid pets and ponds. 7. Clean equipment after; use separate equipment for herbicides, 8. Dispose of waste carefully; discard containers into closed refuse protected from children and pets. 9. Do not suck or blow or siphon with the mouth on the hose or tubes or pipes of the equipment. 10. If sickness occurs, take the patient and and spray container to nearest emergency care. A68-584; see also Poisoning; see also names of pesticides 0
SPRAYS: Against Fungus and Bacteria Physan 20 appears to be an effective bactericide, and it also kills some fungi; the most effective fungicide is Benlate; could be used in a program several times a year. A76-698 0
SPRAYS: Combination A mix of fertilizer, Cygon 2E and Benlate is not recommended because amateurs are inclined to use pesticides in excess and chemical toxicity problems are frequent with amateurs; many top growers don't apply fungicide over all their plants, only insecticides and miticides because pests are ubiquitous. A73-807 0
SPRAYS: Dormant Recommendable types do not exist because they may well kill the plants; such sprays are intended for plants in dormancy in cold weather and there is no such orchid; use Malathion. A64-786 0
SPRAYS: For Protection From All the Enemies Generally speaking, all diseases can be controlled with Benlate, Truban or Banrot, and Mesurol. A81-27 0
SPRAYS: Harmful Aerosol white oil is possibly damaging to plants; it is 60% ingredient of some sprays; the temperature of such a spray may be too cold on contact with the plant; experiment first. AU79-197Small white spots on flower lips can be caused by Physan mixed with Benlate as a spray; illus. A77-435 0
SPRAYS: Regular, for Insects Never spray unless it is necessary because preventative spraying is the best way to breed resistant strains. A87-616 0
SPRAYS: With Xylene Carrier The carrier can do more plant damage than the insecticide; malathion spray (standard) caused crown damage to lycaste and neomoorea; wettable powder malathion does no damage; but xylene is effective in conveying the insecticide to scale and hard-shell insects. OD75-22; absolutely wrong; xylene in sprays is not damaging. OWD 0
