WEEVILS: Characteristics and Controls
It was once a destructive pest; now in many places no more a problem. AH7; in northern areas a small black weevil (black vine weevil?) cuts scallop-shaped pieces out of edges of flowers at night; they can be searched out with a flashlight at night and picked off; their larvae feed in the compost; in Hawaii. WEEVILS: Insect
Vine weevil a common pest; they are black about 15mm long with a prominent snout; unable to fly they move slowly and can be easily caught with a flashlight; they cut notches in leaf and flower edges and eat roots; control with Aldrin dust. OR85-222
