ORIGIN: Found in southeastern Canada and eastern US north of Virginia and east of Nebraska in limy pond shores, riverbanks, meadows, road banks and seeps.

DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial that blooms in the later spring and early summer without its leaves present and carries fragrant flowers.

FLOWER SIZE: 0.2 to 0.4 inches [0.5 to 1 cm] -- information provided by Jay Pfahl, author of the Internet Orchid Species Encyclopedia (IOSPE).
