ORIGIN: Found in Peru on grassy, apine slopes at elevations around 3500 to 4000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing terrestrial with leaves that are withered at blooming which occurs in the spring on an erect, terminal, to 12 [30 cm] long, rachis [2.2 to 5 cm] long, sparsely pilose, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with up to 23, diaphonous bracts and ovate, acute to obtuse, slightly erose margined, reflexed floral bracts taht are slightly longer than the non-resupinate flowers .
