ORIGIN: Found in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua at elevations of 1900 to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with pseudobulbs subtended by 3 or more mottled, papery sheaths carrying a single, ligulate, obtuse or subacute, usually conduplicate leaf that blooms in the spring and early summer on a 4 [10 cm] long densly, many flowered inflorescence that arises from the sheath at the leaf base with an overall cylindric shape.
