ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea in montane forests and along valley floors at elevations around 1200 to 1500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, cool growing terrestrial with a very short rhizome giving rise to stems carrying broadly lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the 16 [40 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer through fall on an erect, peduncle to 20 to 60 [50 to 150 cm] long, rachis to 20 [50 cm] long, 40 to 80 [100 to 200 cm] long overall, densely many flowered inflorescence with deciduous, lanceolate, acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
