ORIGIN: Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in wet montane forests on small trees at elevations of 1200 to 2700 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with stem-like rhizomes enveloped by scarious sheaths that branch at the base of the pseudobulbs and are leafy at new growth with the pseudobulb clusters spaced 4 to 8 apart on the rhizome and the compressed, rugose pseudobulbs are enveloped basally by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single coriaceous, lanceolate, acute leaf with a conduplicate petiole which blooms in the mid-spring through winter on many axillary, single flowered inflorescence that arise from the sheaths along the rhizome after the last pseudobulb.
