Cheirostylis taiwanensis is an orchid species identified by Yamam. in 1933. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Cheirostylis chinensis.
ORIGIN: Found in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Taiwan and the Philippines in wet broad-leaved and coniferous mossy forests on rocky limestone at elevations of 200 to 1550 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, hot growing terrestrial or lithophyte with one to 5, basal, dull gray green, narrowly ovate to ovate-cordate, acute leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, tomentose, 9.4 [23.5 cm] long, 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence with triangular-ovate, acuminate, sparsely hairy to sub-glabrous, longer than the ovaries floral bracts.
