Christensonella seidelii is an orchid species identified by (Pabst) Szlach., Mytnik, Górniak & Smiszek in 2006. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Maxillaria seidelii.
ORIGIN: This species is a dwarf epiphyte that is found in Brazil in cool shady montane forests at moderate elevations.
DESCRIPTION: This species is a dwarf epiphyte that is found in Brazil in cool shady montane forests at moderate elevations with an ascending rhizome carrying minute pseudobulbs carrying 2, erect, linear or linear-oblong leaves that are needle shaped with an apical groove that blooms in the spring on a basal, single flowered, 1 to 1 1/4 [2.5 to 3 cm] long inflorescence with 3 dried sheaths that has the single flowers held amid the leaves. Mount this species on a small tree fern slab or in a small pot with fairly fine material and give cold to cool temperatures, year round moisture, good air movement and semi-shade.
