Coelogyne xylobioides is an orchid species identified by Kraenzl. in 1893. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Gynoglottis cymbidioides.
ORIGIN: Found in Sumatra in wet moss forests low down on tree trunks at elevations of 1500 to 1700 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, cool growing epiphyte with short, lanceolate, shiny pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, narrowly lanceolate, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, to 12 [30 cm] long, shorter than the leaves, 15 to 30 flowered inflorescence that arises on new growths and is covered by several, imbricate sheaths and has lanceolate floral bracts and carries very fragrant flowers that face in all directions.
