ORIGIN: Found in Madagascar on wet rocks or in peaty bogs at elevations of sea level to 1200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large to giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial or lithophytic orchid with 3 to 4 [7.5 to 10 cm] between each narrow pseudobulb enveloped by 6 to 8 narrowly lingulate-loriform, acute, veined leaves that blooms in the spring on a 10 to 24 [25 to 60 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence carrying several short, distant and apiculate sheaths and lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
