Encyclia domingensis is an orchid species identified by (Cogn.) Dod in 1983. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Psychilis domingensis.
ORIGIN: Found in the Dominican Republic in montane broad leafed forests pockets at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with fusiform pseudobulbs enveloped by scarious leaf sheaths and carrying 2 to 1, erecct, conduplicate basally, smooth margined, linear, acute to obtuse leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, partially concealed by scarious sheaths, [26 to 59 cm] long, rachis short, several arising from the mid to upper nodes of the older scape, sometimes fasciculate, each simultaneously 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate floral bracts.
