ORIGIN: Found in Panama in cloud forests at elevations around 2200 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, thin, basally terete, laterally compressed above, producing new stems from the lower part of the previous stem carrying 6, along the apical 1/2 of the stem, articulate, alternate, narrowly elliptic, acute, minutely apiculate leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, on a mature stem, occurring only once, paniculate, shortly 3 branched, 4.8 [12 cm] long including the 2.2 [5.5 cm] long, laterally compressed, ancipitose, straight peduncle with a single bract, lax, simultaneously to 20 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary, triangular, acute, conduplicate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate, greenish yellow flowers.
