ORIGIN: Found in Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo states of Brazil on old trees as a medium sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte in humid subtropical forests at elevations of 100 to 500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Found in Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo states of Brazil on old trees as a medium sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte in humid subtropical forests at elevations of 100 to 500 meters with spherical pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several imbricating leaf sheaths carrying 2 apical, coriaceous, smooth, oblanceolate, rounded apically leaves and blooms in spring through summer in Brazil on a terminal, erect, to 3' [to 90 cm] long, paniculate, several to many [50] flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with lanceolate stem clasping bracts and triangular floral bracts and carrying flowers that have a fragrance of tea.
