ORIGIN: Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia DF, Goias, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, Paraiba, Pernambuco states of Brazil in gallery and dry forests.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped by imbricating leaf bearing sheaths carrying, patent to erect, elliptic-oblong, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer through early fall on a terminal, erect, 6 to 8 [15 to 20 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence .
