Habenaria trichochila is an orchid species identified by Rolfe ex Downie in 1925. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Habenaria medioflexa.
ORIGIN: Found in Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia in mixed deciduous and evergreen forests as well as bamboo thickets at elevations of 100 to 375 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, hot growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem carrying 3 to 8, cauline, elliptic-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, mucronate leaves grading above into 3 to 6, spreading to erect, lanceolate, acuminate, margins sometimes minutely denticulate sterile bracts that blooms in the late summer and fall on an erect, [23 to 52 cm] long, lax, 7 to 25 flowered inflorescence with a 2 to 6 [5 to 15 cm] long, rachis carrying lanceolate, acuminate, margins sometimes minutely denticulate floral bracts.
