ORIGIN: Found in North Borneo in hill and lower montane mossy forests on fallen trees at elevations around 800 to 2300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome giving rize to approximate, pyriform below, long-attenuated distally, rugose pseudobulbs enveloped by imbricate, ovate-elliptic, acuminate, speckled blackish brown cataphylls and carrying a single, apical, erect, articulated, linear, ligualate, grass-like, acute, apiculate, thin textured leaf that blooms in the spring on a 3.2 to 9.6 [8 to 24 cm] long, rhachis thickened, two winged, successively single flowered inflorescence with imbricating, lanceolate acute, rigid, persistent, obliquely ascending floral bracts.
