ORIGIN: Found in Assam, the eastern Himalayas, India, Nepal, Sri lanka, China, Myanmar, Thailand, Java, Vietnam, the Philippines, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Ryukyu and Taiwan in wet temperate forests at elevations of 1200 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool growing epiphyte with clustered, compressed, flattened, rugose, ribbed, elliptic, subrhomboid to globose pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, oblong to oblanceolate, acute, tapering below into the shortly, channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall and early winter on a compressed, 2 winged, zigzag, bracteate, 2.4 to 5.2 [ 6 to 13 cm] long, laxly to subdensely many flowered inflorescence with distant narrowly lanceolat, acute to acuminate bracts and lanceolate, apiculate floral bracts.
