ORIGIN: Found in northwestern Madagascar in tropical sandy forest and woodlands at elevations up to 200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a oblong, slightly compressed pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, flat, fleshy-coriaceous, widely oval, thick and wide petiolate base leaf that that blooms in the summer on an erect, racemose, 8 to 10 [20 to 25 cm] long, sub-loose 8 to 12 flowered inflorescence with several acuminate, distant sheaths and lanceolate, equal to or slightly longer than the pedicel floral bracts.
