Orchid Species: Myoxanthus scandens

Myoxanthus scandens is an orchid species identified by (Ames) Luer in 1982.
ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, as well as Ecuador at elevations of 300 to 1650 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with small plants separated by an 8 long stem connecting each plantlet that has a 1 long, slender, erect, flexible ramicaul carrying a single apical, narrowly elliptical leaf narrowly cuneate below into a subpetiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year to a terminal, short, single flowered inflorescence that holds the flower close to the leaf base.
