Orchid Species: Neuwiedia veratrifolia

Neuwiedia veratrifolia is an orchid species identified by Blume in 1834.
ORIGIN: Found in Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Moluccas, New Guinea, the Solomon Island, the Philippines and Vanuatu at elevations around 250 to 1000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Giant sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 10 or so, distichous, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate and acute, variable in size leaves around the base and blooms on a to 20+ [50 cm+] long, many [40 to 80] flowered, very pilose inflorescence with linear, acute floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
FLOWER SIZE: To 1.4 inches [to 3.5 cm]
