Pantlingia sikokiana is an orchid species identified by (Maxim. ex Makino) Rauschert in 1983. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Stigmatodactylus sikokianus.
ORIGIN: Found in Japan Taiwan and Fujian and Hunan provinces of China along gullies in dense forests in deep shade at elevations around 1800 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a small tuber giving rise to a erect, puberulent, cylindric subterranean portion of the stem carrying 1 to 2, small apical scales and the above ground portion is slender, angled and has a short cataphyl at the base and carrying a triangular-ovate, 3 veined, acuminate apically leaf midway up the stem that blooms in the later summer on a 1 to 3flowered inflorescence with pale green slightly smaller that he leaf floral bract.
