Pinalia sumatrana is an orchid species identified by (Miq.) Kuntze in 1891. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Trichotosia latifolia.
ORIGIN: Found in Borneo, Java, Peninsular Malaysia, Sulawesi & Sumatra in primary forest in main forks of trees at elevations of 700 to 1750 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte and occasional terrestrial in boundary between grassland and forests and forming huge clumps, with a stout stem carrying up to 10, close set, basally clasping, stiff leaves that blooms in the spring on 3 to 4 per growth, terminal, 12 [30 cm] long, many densely flowered, brown pubescent inflorescence carrying up to 100, white pubescent flowers.
