DESCRIPTION: Found as a small to medium sized, pendant, semi-terete leafed, hot growing epiphyte in Assam India, Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysian peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Borneo, the Moluccas, Sulawesi, and the Philippines in lowlands at elevations of 100 to 500 meters with, pendulous, short stems with upturned apices carrying thick, fleshy, v-channeled, rigid acuminate leaves that blooms on an unbranched, stiffly pendant, to 4 to 6.8 [10 to 17 cm] long, lightly flecked violet brown, shorter than the leaves, racemose, densely many [40] flowered inflorescence with a very shortly triangular floral bract and carries successive opening flowers occurring in the summer and fall.
