Sarcanthus sagittatus is an orchid species identified by (Blume) J.J.Sm. in 1905. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Cleisostoma sagittatum.
ORIGIN: Found in Borneo, Java, Malaysia, the Philippines and Sumatra on mangroves and lower montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1700 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with very short, somtimes branched stems carrying several, v-channeled when young, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a dark, terete, 1 to 2 branched, to 18 [45 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts.
