ORIGIN: Found as a medium sized, hot growing lithophyte in full sun or epiphyte in semi arid countryside with high humidity occurring in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica at 360 to 1100 meters in elevation.

DESCRIPTION: Found as a medium sized, hot growing lithophyte in full sun or epiphyte in semi arid countryside with high humidity occurring in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica at 360 to 1100 meters in elevation with cylindrical, curved, hollow, grooved pseudobulbs carrying 2 leathery, oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the winter, spring and summer with a 18 [50 cm] long, several to many [25] flowered, rarely paniculate inflorescence with fragrant, waxy flowers. This species is often found in conjunction with ants and may benefit from their presence.
