Sigmatostalix radicans is an orchid species identified by Rchb.f. in W.G.Walpers in 1864. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Gomesa radicans.
ORIGIN: Found in Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states of Brazil near the coast at elevations around 400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, warm to hot growing epiphyte with thin, narrow, oblong-ligulate, compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs subtended basally by several, distichous, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2 apical, grasslike, cuneate, linear-ligulate, acute, membraneous leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an arching, slender, 7 [18 cm] long, loosely several flowered inflorescence carrying tiny fragrant flowers.
