Orchid Species: Spathoglottis affinis

Spathoglottis affinis is an orchid species identified by de Vriese in 1855.

ORIGIN: Found in Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Java and Borneo in semi-deciduous and deciduous, dry, lowland forests and savana-like woodlands at elevations of 700 to 1000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature, deciduous, warm growing terrestrial with small flattened pseudobulbs that hide beneath the surface of the medium and carry 4, plicate, deciduous leaves that fall before it blooms on an erect, 28 [70 cm] long, several [15] flowered inflorescence with up to 6 flowers open at a time occurring in the summer and fall.
