ORIGIN: Found in Sierra Leone, Ghana, Benin, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Gabon, Gulf of Guinea Islands, Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Angola and Zambia at elevations of 400 to 1650 meters in rainforests in dense shade near rivers and waterfall in humus and on rocks.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with a creeping stem enveloped almost completely by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying, ovate-lanceolate, acute, basally rounded and petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on a terminal, erect, slender, racemose, 5.2 [to 13 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
