Orchid Species: Zeuxine stammleri

Zeuxine stammleri is an orchid species identified by Schltr. in 1906.
ORIGIN: Found in Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gulf of Guinea Islands, Gabon, Congo and Zaire in lowland forests at elevations of sea-level to 900 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect, thin, sparsely glandular stem carrying 3 to 9, near the base, ovate to elliptic, asymetric, acute, petiollate base leaves that blooms in the winter or summer on an erect, dull pale pink, 1 to 4 [2.5 to 10 cm] long, to 15 flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers with ovate-lanceolate, acute, reddish tinged floral bracts.
