Do I cut the flower stalk off after flowers drop right away or wait until the stalk dries out?

about 6 years agoHi Jackie, In general, cutting the stalk off allows the plant to put energy into plant growth. In a Phalaenopsis there might be more flowers off the old stem so people like to leave the stem. I like to cut stems from everything except sequential bloomers. I would use a cutting instrument that has been sterilized as you don’t want to spread virus. Hope this helps. Carol
