ORIGIN: Found in Azuay and Zamora-Chinchipe Ecuador in cloud forests on both sides of the Andes at elevations of 2600 to 3000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ranicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, carinate, elliptical, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, horizontal to descending, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul and is sparsely bracted and has thin, tubular floral bracts .
