ORIGIN: Found in the southeastern Fujian, Hainan China, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Java and Sumatra in lowland and lower montane forests in open swamp ground and among grasses at elevations of 200 to 1200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid with cylindrical, slightly flattened pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 6, unequally sized, narrowly lanceolate, acute, narrowing gradually below into the broad, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, stout, to 2'2 [to 65 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, deflexed floral bracts.
