Acronia nossax is an orchid species identified by (Luer & R.Escobar) Luer in 2005. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Pleurothallis nossax.
ORIGIN: Found in Cauca state Colombia at elevations around 2050 to 2300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect to suberect, slender, terete ramicauls enveloped basally by 1 to 2 close, tubular sheaths and another below the middle and carrying a single, apical, spreading, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, basally sessile and cordate leaf that blooms in the winter on a successive single flowered inflorescence arising through a fugacious spathe and holds the flower close against the leaf base.
