ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador at elevations of 900 to 1450 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 short, tubular sheaths and another longer one below the middle and carrying a single, apical, acutely deflexed, coriaceous, cordate-ovate, acute, basally sessile and deeply cordate leaf that blooms in the summer on a fascile of successive single flowered inflorescence arising through an erect, conduplicate spathe and holding the non-resupinate flower close against the leaf base.
