ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea in foothills at elevations of 150 to 200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot growing epiphyte with basally swollen, 4 to 5 sided, becoming branching, slightly flattened, rigid and wiry, shiny becoming dark with age stems carrying many, linear-lanceolate, folded, distichous leaves that blooms in the spring on a short, 1 to 2 flowered, inflorescence with the short lived flowers held towards the apex of the stem.
