ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador in wet montane cloud forests at elevations of 1200 to 2400 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with narrowly ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 5 to 7 distichous, imbricating, conduplicate, leafless below and leaf bearing above sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly oval, obtuse to acute, tapering below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that can bloom in the spring and summer on an axillary, erect, to 6 [15 cm] long,, 3 to 5 flowered, racemose inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb through the axil of the leaf sheaths and carrying a few flowers closely spaced towards the apex.
