Cheirostylis derchiensis is an orchid species identified by S.S.Ying in 1991. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Cheirostylis clibborndyeri.
ORIGIN: Found in Hong Kong China on damp mossy rocks in shade along the sides of swiftly flowing streams at elevations of 400 to 500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, hot growing terrestrial, with a worm-like, fleshy, olive green, simple to branching, internoded stem carrying 3 to 4, crowded or well spaced, ovate, acute, sage greeen wiith a satin-like sheen variegated with a lighter green band along the mid-rib, marked with deeper green veins, round below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and earlier spring on a terminal, brownish green, 4.8 to 6 [12 to 15 cm] long, 5 to 6 flowered inflorescence with cucllate, oblong, acute floral bracts.
