ORIGIN: Found in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia in deep shade of evergreen forests at elevations of 100 to 1800 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Hot to cool growing, medium to large sized terrestrial with a short rhizome giving rise to a strict, erect, terete stem enveloped by plicate, thin, non-articulate, elliptic, acute to somewhat attenuate leaves that blooms in the fall on several, recurved, axillary from the uppermost leaves, paniculate, to 4.8 [12 cm] long, several flowered, corymbose inflorescence.
