ORIGIN: Found in Assam India, Myanmar, Thailand, and southwestern China on isolated peaks at elevations of 1200 to 2000 meters in deep shade on western or northwest facing slopes.

DESCRIPTION: Cool growing epiphyte growing in leaf mold on limestone rock that has linear, clear green leaves with purple spots below near the base and blooms in the late summer and fall on a single flowered, pubescent, terminal, erect, to 10 [25 cm] long inflorescence covered with reddish spots and having obovate floral bracts that cover 2/3 of the ovary and carrying a single, long-lasting flower.
