Cyrtidiorchis stumpflei is an orchid species identified by (Garay) Rauschert in 1982. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Maxillaria stumpflei.
ORIGIN: A cool growing terrestrial orchid that is found only in Peru at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters.
DESCRIPTION: A cool growing terrestrial orchid that is found only in Peru at elevations of 1500 to 1800 meters with a dimorphic growth pattern, one growth consists of sterile, caespitose, ovoid, bifoliate pseudobulbs subtended by foliaceous bracts and the other growth has erect, branched, leafy flowering stems with occasional [sometimes not at all] pseudobulbs that are distantly placed. The inflorescence is short to 2 [to 5 cm] and carries a single flower that occurs in the summer.
