Orchid Species: Dendrobium christyanum

Dendrobium christyanum is an orchid species identified by Rchb.f. in 1882.
ORIGIN: Found in northern Vietnam, northern Thailand, and southwestern China in highland primary cloud forests as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing, miniature epiphyte in forests at an elevation of 800 to 1600 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Found in northern Vietnam, northern Thailand, and southwestern China in highland primary cloud forests as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing, miniature epiphyte in forests at an elevation of 800 to 1600 meters with caespitose, subclavate, abbreviated pseudobulbs enveloped by 3 to 4, pellucid sheaths covered in black hairs and carries 2 towards the apex, lanceolate, obtuse, covered in black hairs below, obliquely bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal or lateral, very short, single flowered inflorescence that arises from the apex or on the sides of old and new pseudobulbs and carries fragrant flowers.
