Orchid Species: Dendrobium lampongense

Dendrobium lampongense is an orchid species identified by J.J.Sm. in 1908.
ORIGIN: Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Sabah and Sumatra in lowland and hill forests at elevations of 200 to 400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot growing epiphyte with stem-like, erect to spreading, sometimes pendent, somewhat flexuous, dark green to reddish brown pseudobulbs consisting of many nodes and carrying lanceolate, slightly unequal, acute, gently undulate, dark green above, dark violet to purple suffused beneath, deciduous leaves that blooms on a short, few flowered inflorescence that arises from a leafless cane.
