Orchid Species: Dendrobium praecinctum

Dendrobium praecinctum is an orchid species identified by Rchb.f. in 1877.
ORIGIN: Found in Yunnan China, Assam, eastern Himalayas and Thailand at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with pendulous, tapering at both ends stems branching below as well as at or near the apex of older stems giving the effect of a rather sprawling, untidy plant carrying many per stem, few per branch, linear-lanceolate, 2 ranked leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a short, laterally from the nodes near the apex of the stem and carrying 1 to 5 flowers on each.
