Orchid Species: Dendrobium xanthoacron

Dendrobium xanthoacron is an orchid species identified by Schltr. in 1906.
ORIGIN: Found in Borneo in lowland forest, stunted forest and upper montane mossy forests at elevations around 1700 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with clustered, semi-erect to spreading, sometimes pendent, simple, lowermost prtion leafless, leafy above stems carrying falcate-oblong, obtuse, succulent, rigid, coriaceous leaves that blooms on a subterminal, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with obliquely ovate to oblong, obtuse to subacute, brownish green, dirty yellow to golden yellow florla bracts and carrying fragrant flowers with translucent pale yellow tepals and a translucent creamy white to pale yellow lip and dark yellow keels.
