ORIGIN: Found in Lesotho, Cape Province, Natal, Orange Free State and Transvaal South Africa among grasses in seepage areas on slopes at elevations of 1200 to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3, cauline, alternate, sessile, suberect, pubescent ovate to ovate-lanceolate, aute to acuminate leaves that blooms in the summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, 8 to 12 [20 to 30 cm] long, 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence with prominent green floral bractsthat are longer than the ovary and carrying color variable, fragrant flowers.
